2022 Spring Training Thread

I’m not watching the game, but it seems like a quick hook? Seems like he’s want to work out of a jam?

Edit. I see he’s back in. Nevermind.

Lineup today vs Tampa:

RF Rosario
1B Olson
3B Riley
LF Ozuna
2B Albies
DH Dickerson
CF Duvall
SS Swanson
C Piña

LHP Kyle Muller

The Rays are basically running out their regular lineup today, so it'll be a good test for Muller. Unfortunately no TV.

I die inside a little every time I see Rosario in the leadoff slot. I think knowing that would happen is partly why I don't like the contract.

Went to Grapefruit League Sunday and Monday. Went to the Braves at Rays sunday and then the Blue Jays at Braves monday

Was a good time down there.

Our stadium has to be the least fan friendly spring training stadium ever devised btw

Degrom with shoulder soreness.

This does not surprise me.

DeGrom has one of the most unnatural aging curves in baseball history. Since 2016, he's seen his average fastball velocity increase every season. It has, on average increased 1 MPH from each season to the next. In 2016 he was 28 years old. You'll sometimes see odd jumps from one season to the next as a pitcher changes something but a fastball increasing in velocity by 1 MPH a year for 5 straight years at that age is just unheard of.

So whatever magic he used or whatever demon he sold his soul to was bound to come collecting at some point. It seems to be happening now with DeGrom.
