Not a bad deal for Chicago
Say what
Not a bad deal for Chicago
And use what as trade bait? The contenders premium is always more expensive.
I think this is the right decision! Our farm is bad and if we don’t sign Swanson the window is going to close in the next 2 year or less.
Good news is Eddie's money comes off the books after this year.

With all that I bet we could afford two tickets to paradise.

Did he really get 5 years?? Wow
He's 28, so it runs through 33-34, not that bad honestly.
His age isn't all that relevant. I mean it's a little relevant, but he just hasn't been all that good in general. I could see it being bad as soon as this season.
All of the deals this offseason for the big guys have a ton of risk. All of those deals are gonna age badly.
This is gonna be the new norm. So AA will have to give out a 10 year deal at soke point to lower the luxury like these teams are doing unless MLB changes rules.
When is the next CBA? I guarantee the luxury tax limits get increased then.

That's what I'm saying. He had a bit of a resurgence last year. But in the years prior was not very good. So the way I see it, he has the ability to go back to being not very good again at any point. Don't see why 5 years was required to get him.
