Tavarez with his first homer of the year... also had a double... over the mendoza line now with a .655 OPS but still striking out a ton. Swellenbach with a solid start... 3.1 innings, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K's

Might get a chance at some starts with the big club?

They've been hoping for a velocity bump to get him where he'd spike in the mid-90s and if that's there, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a start of two at some juncture. I always pictured him as more of a soft-tosser from what I had read in the past, but maybe that has changed. He's been a slow climber, but he's looked decent (not great) once he's gotten acclimated to a higher level of competition.

Just wanted to show you guys that haven't watched or seen Ambioris what I was referring to a few days ago when I said that he is making adjustments to his swing that is changing the plane of his bat. While he is still striking out, the difference in lift and his adjustments bode well as from what I've seen he is very coachable and it shows. Below, thanks to Garrett Spain, he posted pics of the difference I was referring to and as a prospect hound, it feels good to see a writer allude to what I was talking about. Now he's only batting .210, but considering he was at .164 a week ago, I'd say he is adjusting....but his SO rate is still atrocious. Baby Steps.

The first pic is how I first saw him. The second, the lowering of hands and his setup.

I would love for the answer to that to be they are going to use him in ATL in the pen, however incredibly dumb that actually is.

In all seriousness, hopefully just a blister

Nah… just terrible weather. And no, let’s not waste our closest impactful SP prospect in a pen role

Uh oh. JR Ritchie out with an injury in the middle of an inning. Went 3.2 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K.

Hopefully something minor, but he struck out a hitter, called timeout immediately and then came out of the game. Hold your breath.
