2014 playoff watch

The Cubs supported the protest because it was their mistake that caused the issue.

Part of the game just like calling infield Flys 50 feet into the outfielder a split second before the ball hits the ground or allowing Eric Gregg to call a playoff game

Not properly covering the field during a downpour is part of the game?

C'mon. That was a fair ruling. If the Giants end up 1 game ahead of the Braves, this will be way down on the list of reasons, imho.

The Giants would have lost the appeal if Uggla was still in our lineup.

What's to stop a team from manipulating the ventilation system?
What's to stop an umpire from making up his own strike zone.
Did MLB care when an umpire makes bad calls against us and fist bumped the opposing teams catcher?
What's to stop an umpire from ejecting a player for no reason?
What's to stop the commish from suspending an albatross contract of the yankees so they can afford Tanaka?
What's to stop MLB from giving the Nats money every year because their TV deal sucks? Not only did MLB not care that we had a bad deal they deliberately killed our deal with TBS. Somehow it's fair the yankees can out spend everyone by 100 million but god forbid the braves have some extra revenue.

If there was evidence the Cubs did this on purpose I would agree but they didnt. The giants should get the same answer every time we get screwed, which is "tough ****".

Has there ever been a protest involving a ventilation system? I would guess a protest would be upheld if a team could show that there were unfair conditions.

Nothing. Of course, that isn't the same as the Cubs/Giants situation. Maybe if we let the Cubs ground crew make up their own strike zone.

Wow. The entire universe is conspired to keep the Braves from winning, right? It has nothing to do with the fact that the team simply isn't that good.

The funny thing is that you actually believe this (I think). My apologies if this is just a troll - because it is beautiful work if so.

I don't think Selig has it out for the braves but he has made many decisions that have severely hurt the braves. The most heinous being forcing the braves to split their TBS money equally with other teams then demanded the braves charge so much that TBS had to drop them. How he can do that in the name of fairness but do nothing to stop the yankees financial advantage pissed me off to no end. The wild card probably has cost the braves at least 1 championship. It lowered the odds that the best team would win. The year before the second Wild was added we finished second. The next year we finish first in wild card and lose partially thanks to a bad call. I bet some changes will be made when the yankees lose to a blown call in a 1 game playoff. When the commish steals our teams revenue and is now currently paying our main division rival who has a higher payroll than we do I start to get a little paranoid.

I don't know if there was ever a protest about the ventilation but just because you don't know a team is cheating doesn't mean they should get away with it. I am refreshing the twins in 1991. The person responsible even admitted to doing it. Bobby Valentine of the Rangers said his players complained that the air was blowing out when they were in the field and blowing in when they were at bat. This was widely speculated to have happened in the world series we lost.

I can't help but see a pattern.

LOL. The pattern is the Braves usually lose in the playoffs and that frustrates you.

That's quite a conspiracy theory though.

Sorry that the Giants lost today though, I guess the league office forgot to tell the Cubs that they were supposed to lose that game.

Well I said I don't think Selig is intentionally screwing the braves, just that he does it a lot. I personally do not recognize any accomplishments by the yankees or their players so to me we won several championships.

Is there anyone here that denies the TBS thing was royal screwing by Selig?

Wow, several championships? That's great. We've probably got more World Series titles than the Yankees. It's too bad the Braves don't get more respect nationally for all of the championships.

You are living in a fantasy world. In one sentence you bad mouth the Yankees and say their championships don't count (presumably because they have more money than other teams?) and in the next sentence you bad mouth Selig for taking away the Braves' money, and as a result the Braves weren't able to do the exact thing that you were badmouthing the Yankees for..........wow.
