Oh, what could possibly go wrong?

I based that conclusion on your posting articles blaming Obama, etc, for Trump's rise, not just your blue/yellow dog scenario.
And you misread me if you think I was laying all the blame elsewhere - you weren't taking into account the context I was writing in (i.e., y'all's failure to see any sort of counteraction to Obama actions/inactions and the tact to the left as seen by Trumpsters). I noted that we all should look in a mirror. That in no way diminishes the responsibility of Trump, Trumpsters, or the Republican party as a whole. What I despise is this political game partisans play where anything bad is the total and entire fault of the opposing party, as if everything was ever that simple.
Douthat's down to stop the Trump Train at all costs. This is gonna be one helluva spectacle.
"The Party Still Decides
...
So in Cleveland this summer, the men and women of the Republican Party may face a straightforward choice: Betray the large minority of Republicans who cast their votes for Trump, or betray their obligations to their country.
For a party proud of its patriotism, the choice should not be hard."
You guys know, or should know anyway, that I am now and always have been on the "all rich people who use their money to try and lead other people astray so the wealthy can have even more power and money and control are bad, right?
With that said is there actual proof that Soros is behind this or is this just more speculation?
no it is not. it is historically inaccurate and self serving to the point of making me vomit.
Where was Douhat when Trump ranted about birth certificates. Where was Douhat when Palin rallies were dress rehearsals for the current Trump campaign --
why isn't Douhat railing to the point of throw the bums out over the current SCOTUS vacancy.
Speaking of principled GOP
Douhat seems always a day late to the party.

I know most of you guys are from the South, though Southeast is not necessarily the same thing as South Central at least not across the board. Down here, for the past few years, if someone's running for dog catcher they point out how "I'm against Obama and everything he stands for" type of crap and "you have to follow your party's line or you're not worthy to be elected" and that sort of crap. Well I watched more of the Repub debate last night than I have at any point so far (about 5 minutes worth) and I saw Rafael Cruz try that sort of "you want to be included with the cool kids approach and be all Repub all the time, right" approach against Trump, stating that "he has associated with and has supported Liberal Democrats for the past 40 years" and got some cheers from the crowd and then Trump came back with the "I've supported some Democrats over the years and I've supported some Repubs over the years" and I've gotten things done, I've worked with both sides and this partisan stuff is what's killing America.
Now while there are definitely a lot of things I don't like about Trump, I absolutely applaud him for that one, both now and in the past. If the far left or the far right had their heads out of their arses enough to get some actual oxygen to their brains they're realize that partisan politics is much more of a threat to this country than ISIS or Al Qaeda or anything else for that matter. As Trump also pointed out, democracy only works when there is compromise.

Rubio got 101,633 votes in Arkansas, and 9 delegates. He got 1059 votes in DC, and 10 delegates.
What a way to pick a president.
what are you laughing at ?
You made a nonsensical uninformed statement
read that constitution you so often lean on
LINK: FOR ONCE, I AM ON TRUMP’S SIDE
"Blaming Trump for inflammatory rhetoric would make sense if his followers were roaming the streets attacking passers-by, or infiltrating Clinton and Sanders rallies and attacking Democrats. But they aren’t. Not a single such instance has occurred. On the contrary, every violent or disruptive event has involved people associated with the Democratic Party trying to prevent Trump from being heard. Whose inflammatory rhetoric has inspired them?"
What progressive, left-leaning, lets rail against rich guys is that rich arsehole not behind? Have you ever looked at a list of the groups he supports (which then support others groups)? Love how folks who rail against the Kochs love them some Soros. They are all poison.
Btw. I will provide no links or research for the above statements. Sue me.![]()
A few years out of college? Dang dude, the guy's a kid. Don't know why you hate him so much. Seems petty, and a rather oddly intense hatred. He piss in your cheerios?
Btw, his editorials are all archived. Here's but one where he mentions underestimating Trump and his birther nonsense.

Douthat was a senior editor at The Atlantic in 2008 and was working at the NYT in 2009. So 57 isn't totally off base here.
