Newk is exactly the kind of “stuff #4” that holds his trade value well because someone will always think they can fix him.

Unless Newcomb comes down with a terminal case of Steve Blass disease, he's going to stick around quite awhile for the reason you state. He shows just enough stuff to tease.

In other words... he very well could be replaceable

Technically yes but he's not easily replaceable is my point. We dont really have anyone to replace what he does on the roster, and going to war in the FA market is risky.

If we trade for Realmuto I'd imagine Flowers goes the other way in the deal, not as a key piece but someone to replace Realmuto in Miami and because Mac would be the back-up here.

Or maybe trade Flowers plus a piece for Puig?

Like Flowers and Muller for Puig?

Acuna
JD
Freeman
JTR
Puig
Albies
Ender
Swanson

I would trade Newk.

They “need” to trade Julio to free up that 10 mil.

I would even trade Folty if the deal is right, because he is about to be more expensive and might possibly have the highest value he ever will. He might keep getting better but is just as likely to regress or stay the same.

I would trade Ender before Pache. I’m just that high on Pache.

They could even trade one of Dansby or Oz, if they are that high on Camargo if the deal is right.

It’s all what you are getting back and if you think the other team is over valuing a player you really want.

Outside of Freddie and Acuna...anyone is in play for the right player.

Puig is a cancer that would not fit in Atlanta either on the field or off the field. His presence in the club house would draw much consternation IMO.

Heyman: As of this moment the teams with the best chance to land Realmuto are these 7 — dodgers, mets, padres, astros, phillies, yankees and braves. A couple notably deny being too involved but they are all apparently involved enough to be in the top 7.

Puig is a 1-2 WAR player these days with a bad attitude. I don't see anything in his peripherals that lead me to be optimistic that he will turn back into the player he was his first 2 full years. Even as a buy low, I don't get it. I'd much rather pay a little more and try and get Joc... still Joc is down on my list as well.

So Newcomb, Flowers, Pache, and Fried?

I'm real hesitant to trade Fried... I don't think enough people here realize how good he could be or how good he was in a small sample last year. He just needs to keep the blisters under control. I know derp derp says there is no way to envision him in our plans but ole derp derp is also derp derp... he's easily one of the favorites to compete for a rotation spot or a spot in the Pen until a spot opens

I completely agree, minus the derps.
