true, i just figured riley was much closer to actually making the team or being on it soon. pache i figure has a year and a half before he's ready

If markakis does crash this season and pache hits in AAA, I wonder how possible an ender, acuna, and pache outfield is around June. That would be some serious range defensively

I think Pache would have to have a Acuna type of meteoric rise offensively for that to even be in consideration. There were legitimate concerns about his hit tool only a few months ago (probably still are).

This has nothing to do with ST performance, but I don’t think Newcomb is very good as a starter.

What SS is going to be available at the break because Swanson aint doing it

Can’t see the Angels trading Simmons, now that they’ve resigned Trout forever and need to build a core. Not sure that there are any other impact SS that might be available.

It’ll probably be Swanson for one more year unless his defense craters or his offense is unspeakably, as opposed to just genetically, bad.

We can give them some pieces for that core.

it would be a live discussion if Gausman and Folty were healthy

In light of his second-half, plus the abysmal bb/k rate in ST, I think it should be a lively discussion anyways. The trio of Toussaint, Wright, and Fried all inspire more confidence, and I’d even lean towards making that a quartet including Wilson.

Newk to pen confirmed?

As I said 2 years ago, the walks are unlikely to improve and Newk will mostly likely end up in the BP at some point.

Whether that time is now depends on how comfortable the Braves are with a rotation of Teheran, Wright, Wilson and Fried (I really wish I could see his ST statcast data) to open the season. Folty and Gaus should be ready early in the season to jump in and help.

Touki came into ST as the favorite of the young guys, but he hasn’t looked ready at all. I would like to see him getting innings in AAA.
