Agreed. If Machado is at or below 200 million then Atlanta should no doubt give it to him.
 
I really don't like the idea of Machado at short, but the bench becomes pretty good with both Dansby and Camargo on it.
 
FWIW, if the payroll number can be slightly higher than we expect - say $130 million - keeping the Catcher tandem as is, trading for Pederson, and signing Kimbrel to a 1 year/$15 million pillow deal puts Opening Day salaries right at $130 million.

Would they go that far since tons of money would come off the books next winter? Who knows???

*amn, something needs to happen so we can stop talking about Harper Machado, and Kimbrel!!!

Only a subset of posters are talking about Harper, Machado and Kimbrel as if they are realistic options.

I won’t comment on the mental capacity of that subset.

I call them “aggressively ignorant”, a personality type that is becoming more and more in style nowadays. As long as you are proud and loud, it doesn’t matter how dumb you are.

I've said it already, but I'd love Zobrist. That all being said, I'm just so tired of rumors. AA needs to make a damn move. lol
 
If AA gets a platoon for the outfield or Markakis is back, this offseason is a huge fail. Braves had some money to play with, have arguably the best farm system in baseball, theres no excuse to settle for a platoon.

Peraza SS, Gennett 2B, Votto 1B, Suarez 3B, Puig RF, Winkler CF, Kemp LF, Barnhart C is a nice lineup! That rotation is still very much so putrid.

They've got to pray that two of the Cubs, Brewers, Cards and Pirates (most likely) underachieve to make any noise.

Gray, Roark, Wood, Castillo, 5th guy isnt putrid, it's average, but weird to going all in with the Central being a beast.
 
Passan: The Sonny Gray deal may turn out to be a three-way trade, league sources tell ESPN. Seattle is sending center field prospect Josh Stowers to the Yankees, sources said, and Shed Long is expected to go to the Mariners.
