Mark Feinsand: Padres appear to be frontrunners for Mike Clevinger, but source said the Braves also remain in the mix.
 
Clevinger would be fantastic. But I won't get my hopes up. Preller has a history of overpaying to get who he wants.

Yeah i dont see AA overpaying, hasnt to this point in trades. Preller has as you said. I think he gets one more SP, but no one, anyone is talking about.
 
AA may be forced to overpay at some point. With the team we have we have to put our chips in to try and win it all at some point and with Soroka going down and who knows for how long we need a pitcher like Clevinger. With 2 years left he’s exactly what we need.
 
What would a realistic trade be for Clevinger? I don’t see AA trading Riley or Anderson but I could see one of Pache or Waters being the headliner with Wright and one of our minor league catchers in there.

AA isnt trading for Clev.
