I wouldnt risk the future this year. Not worth it.

Wright, Waters, and a couple of other pieces I could live with and I don’t think would be risking the future. If Clev was just controllable for next year then I wouldn’t but for 2 more years I would. With the core being in their prime and Freeman being in his we need to strike while the iron is hot.

Waters is someone I’d love to sell high on. He could figure it out, but if you can sell that K/BB ratio for Clevinger, you do it every time.

Waters is a good prospect and you don't give him up lightly, but you have Acuna locking down one outfield spot for the next decade and Pache is the superior prospect in center. You'd love to have a Waters-Pache-Acuna outfield, but I think you can give up Waters without it tearing a giant hole in the organization.

Now, presumably the Indians will want more, and we'll have to see how the deal fills out beyond Waters/

Do it. Give them one of the two young catchers and call it a day. Maybe even one of the arms in the Wright/Touki/Wilson/etc. group as well if that's what it takes.

A World Series win this year counts just as much as any other year.
