Because it's a stretch to call it communism.

Meanwhile, Harris has literally said she wants to come into your home in regards to gun control. That she supports mandatory buybacks. She is literally on record saying she would sign a reparations bill. She wants to push further on Climate change innitatives that already socialist to begin with.

So are some of your examples. Bad ideas? Yes. Communist? Not necessarily, and I don’t see how that label is helpful.

Maybe the takeaway is people should argue for/against policies without slapping unnecessary labels on them …

Well I hate to break it to you but one day someone like AOC is going to be president. I would prefer our system protects us from someone going “overboard”. When we support our candidate doing “unconstitutional” but “good ideas” it erodes those guardrails.

When Trump actually does it then you can gripe. It's more than likely hot air to get a few more independents to the fold.

Unfortunately, I have a strong suspicion his deportation ideas are all talk too.

I’d be nice to know what’s real and what’s hot air before being asked to pull a lever. The difference between deporting 10-20 million people and not deporting 10-20 million people is kind of… big.

Well, we had a better alternative in RDS but he's not here to vote for now.

Yes, there is a big difference between Kamala and Trump.

Don't let perfection be the enemy of good.

WHAT ARE PRICE CONTROLS?
"Price controls are an industrial policy tool whereby the government sets rules on
what private firms are allowed to charge their customers. These controls can be set
either for one or multiple industries, but this kind of tool is different than overall
macroeconomic inflation management through monetary policy, where overall price
levels are indirectly controlled through interest rate adjustments. In turn, through
increased or decreased bank lending, this affects the pace of economic activity.
Price controls, on the other hand, take a more direct form: as instructions to specific
producers (including, notably, many if not mostly non-banks) on how much they may or
may not legally demand for their products. In so doing, government limits or expands
the distribution of money between different industries—our definition of industrial
policy."

This site believes interest from banks are not a form of price control. I don't know if they are in the majority or not. Personally, I've never heard of capping interest rates in anything being called a price control since the amount of the loan can vary

Are we allowed to gripe BEFORE a politician does something stupid as a means to, you know, influence the politician not to do the stupid thing?

One last point, a high interest rate is a.market function that is meant to DISCOURAGE reckless borrowing.

The lower the interest rate, the higher the incentive for people and businesses to borrow money they can't afford

Banks will change their risk tolerance if the benefit to extending credit is not as beneficial.

Borrowers need to be approved as a starting point of obtaining credit.

I made this point to a lot of my friends over the past 4 years. If you want to break everything forever to force your way through our system, don’t get upset when the other side does it too.

OPRAH is on the job. The Dems seem to be more organized, have more money they are willing to spend and are determined to run through the finish line. Meanwhile, the Felon is hogging all GOP donated money to pay off his legal bills, squirreling the rest away in off-shore accounts, and generally running his campaign on the cheap. His ground game is way behind.
