My ump buddy said the Rangers started talks with Braves wanting Schwellenbach or Baldwin. Braves obviously balked and countered with two top-5 prospects and a couple of lower ones. They also said they'd take on full salary. He said no one has offered to take the full salary to date.
I know things change quickly and I completely understand if you guys don't believe me, but Alex was apparently given the full go-ahead to spend.

Not sure i'd love doing Caminiti and someone else but we're in a win now window. If we're willing to take on the full salary, i think this might get done. I believe your ump buddy fwiw.

He's gotten much of this stuff from other people in the industry. He said AA is hard as hell to get anything from lol but feels pretty confident that Atlanta is going all in because of how much he's hearing. He did hear the all-in comment from someone he's close with in the organization.

I mean we've already spent 16 on Iggy, 15 on Suarez, 6 on Dubon and 11 on Yaz. And most of those arent even their biggest areas of need. SP/SS are. All that being said, i'll believe it when i see it if they get Seager. I dont think his contract is that bad either, so i'd have no problem taking it on.

Wow. Yeah we can't trade SS or Baldwin but Ritchie, Owen Murphy, and 2 others not named Caminiti would be amazing. Taking on the whole contract would definitely persuade the Rangers. If that ends up happening the Braves are gonna be tough to beat. We'd still have Waldrep, Caminiti, and Fuentes

Ritchie, Murphy is probably the centerpiece of it. After that is probably guys in the 20-30 range. Would love to somehow hold onto Caminiti in that deal.

I think Cam has the highest upside so I'd love to hang onto him especially if we are eating the whole contract. If there were serious conversations Seager could be an obstacle with the NTC

If we somehow get Seager this team can win the World Series. Assuming they stay healthy off course. Would love to take a big swing. If they miss at least they tried.

I wonder if adding deGrom to the deal would increase the required return or deminish it . We were in on him a few years ago.

That would definitely put us right there with the Dodgers and the lineup as a whole would probably be better. The thought of that rotation being healthy for the playoffs is a complete nightmare for any team.

Danny Jansen to Rangers for 2 years, 14.5 million. I think you can completely rule out a Murphy trade there now.

I dont think we move Murph, his value isnt there right now. If he rebounds, stays healthy, i can see it next year.
