4/27 @BOS - Knuckling Under

Watching the Boston broadcast. They're saying that these guys just don't look like they're putting in the effort, like even running down to 1st base (Aybar). They look like a dead ballclub.

I'm guessing Viz is the only player that will sniff an all-star selection?

He probably has the best shot, do they still require taking at least one player from each team? If not I could see us overlooked as bad as we are, even if Viz deserves it.

After that performance, if they don't have a team meeting with some yelling and swearing, then I just don't know what to say. They are simply listless at this point, and don't seem to be invested in the outcome of games any longer. They need a shake up bad.

Now that AJP has his 2000 hit, can we talk him into retiring to save us Braves fans and our pitchers throwing to him some suffering?

I don't think some of them respect Fredi anymore, namely Freeman despite him taking the high road in the press. I think they want him gone but either way this is a bad team.

Aybar vs Barnes, no contest. Now he's hitting .147... Nope Simmons cannot do that...

Will some of you let some of that *hit die already???

If you're willing to give Newcomb and Ellis back to get Andrelton and his .238/.256/.288 line back with both Albies and Swanson beating down the door, you really ought to find another team to pull for.

If you think you're going to tell me I cannot cheer for my hometown team where I was born and raised because I dislike a trade and hate they traded my favorite Braves player. Then quite frankly you can kiss my ass because it ain't happening.

No need to be a prick about it.

I miss Andrelton's D, pretty much every day. I'm a person who's capable of seeing the big picture and perfectly comfortable with delayed gratification and I'm just barely ok—in purely rational terms—with the return we got. Emotionally, not so much. Tron was about the only thing worth watching last year. I miss the guy. This year, the only thing worth watching is minor-league box scores.

So Newcomb is power lefty with ace potential? Awesome. But what if he can't harness his stuff and becomes a bullpen piece or is one of those lefties who doesn't figure it out 'til they're 28?

In addition to that, I think we're allowed some rustled jimmies at how Coppy talked Aybar up. Dude made a really slick play on that DP tonight, and to paraphrase the immortal words of Jack McCall of Deadwood fame, that's one in a row for him. He made a play that Tron makes blindfolded after a night out with AJ Pierzynski. Sweet. He also had a hat trick.

If Aybar continues to suck on D and hit below the Mendoza line, i think we're free to mourn Andrelton 'til Newcomb is winning games in the bigs and Albies or Swanson is ensconced at SS.

Glad I was at work until 11:00....on my way home listening to Ben Ingram who is supposed to talk up the positives of the team was completely bashing the team and especially the rotation in particular bud Norris. Saying we have no emotional attachment to him and as soon as Jenkins or folty are ready Norris is gone. Also didn't like his post game comments or complaints about coming out of the game early. It's your fault Bud. You are not giving us competitive outings

This team is in the record books alone for this start now:
