I just don't think the "we could have used the $6.5 mil elsewhere" points make any sense. We likely can't carry it over to future years. It has no bearing on Shelby or Alex. We can't redistribute to current players' contracts to "save" it for future years? (this one really made little sense to me). It was a decent gamble that hasn't worked out perfectly. Happens all the time. We hedged against the risk by getting a draft pick. We really lost nothing.
