It's clear that certain posters will refuse to admit any wrongdoing by the Braves.

I think it's a really hard sell to defend the Cahill trade.

I don't think it is. We bought a draft pick and we took a shot on a reclamation project. Didn't work so far. Now we have a pick. Is it worth 6.5 million? I guess it depends on how we pick.

Markakis' 3rd and 4th years are the only move I can't defend.

I just don't think the "we could have used the $6.5 mil elsewhere" points make any sense. We likely can't carry it over to future years. It has no bearing on Shelby or Alex. We can't redistribute to current players' contracts to "save" it for future years? (this one really made little sense to me). It was a decent gamble that hasn't worked out perfectly. Happens all the time. We hedged against the risk by getting a draft pick. We really lost nothing.

We should've taken the money, invested it for a 10% annual return, and in 10 years, use the $18M for a stud

And because good players will be getting 30+ mill a year in 10 years this is a bad idea.

The money saved\profit goes into Libertys pocket or quite possibly to absorb the huge losses from **** attendance this year.

And 10% is pretty solid. Let me in.

I thought this was clearly a joke since Tapate gets so mad that I suggested we do something with $6M other than spend in on one of the worst pitchers in the league

It was a terrible joke. I thought you were serious.

I think its funny you think I get worked up about it. Relax dude.

So wheres that 10 points?

Andrew Friedman quite likes LHP Ian Thomas. Said he’s tried to acquire him for months. Said his “floor is as a good major-league reliever
