Same "whoa as me" attitude as the players have, it seems.
lol "whoa as me"?
holy ****, that's the worst one i've ever seen. worse than "for all intensive purposes"

I'm at work so I don't have time to search through twitter but here is one example and is pretty much what most people were saying about the brawl

I can’t tell you how many people responded to me with some variation of this last night. “NO ballplayer would stand for Gomez’s taunting!” they say. “This is how it has always been in baseball!”
But it is curious to note that Gomez got suspended for his actions, while McCann only got fined. Here is what is likelier: while people outside of baseball think all of these unwritten rules are ridiculous, people in baseball agreed with the Braves.
In baseball, what Fernandez and Gomez did was unambiguously wrong. You don’t show up the other team, ever, for any reason. Meanwhile, while McCann’s actions may have been over the top, his intentions were laudable: he was sticking up for his teammates, which in baseball is unambiguously good. Standing in the baseline may have caused a bench-clearing scene, but Brian McCann didn’t do it for the fans, he did it to stand up for Maholm. Defending your buddy’s honor may be old-fashioned and dumb, but that’s what baseball players are.
And what's this crap about McCann never coming through in the postseason? Did you people just become Braves fans this season?

I'll have to back and look where anyone said "never comes through." The argument I'm making is his bat has disappeared late three years in a row. Health problems or not, it's not a good argument for re-signing him to a longterm deal. He isn't getting younger.
The whole irony of this thing is, for years Chipper's candidness is what lead to all the "nobody picked us" or "nobody thought we'd win" or "nobody gave us a chance" comments that he gave to the media sticking up for the team, and here he ends up doing the same thing he spoke out against for years.
You guys love to take things to the extreme, he never said he didn't believe in them. Stop putting words in his mouth. Just because he predicted the Dodgers to win the series doesn't mean he doesn't believe the Braves were a worthy opponent and very much capable of winning. He simply gave his opinion on what the outcome of the series would be. He's stated on numerous occasions how proud he was of this team and how they deserve all the success they have experienced. I'm pretty sure he believes in them. He's just not someone that's going to lie to prevent people's feelings from getting hurt. Maybe some of you would but it shows a lack of character to do so.
