Fredi Gonzalez Rant Thread.

So when exactly will BJ get moved out of the 2-spot?

Our lineup took off once JUp was moved into the 2-spot, and the lineup stacked with our top hitters.

I'm a bigger Fredi supporter than most but i dont get it.

I do, actually.

When BJ gets hurt or benched (or someone else at the top of the lineup gets hurt or benched).

But said player will be forced to wear BJ's jersey. To keep BJ's confidence high.

Confidence is way more important than people realize. That's another reason batting BJ in a pressure spot was a high-risk move. The only spot he could really move now without doing more damage to his confidence is #5 behind his brother. I would see if the back-to-back thing would get him having fun again.

Heyward
Johnson
Freeman
Justin
BJ
Uggla
Gattis
Simmons
P

It is worth a try.

Fredi lost me not for using Kimbrel for 2 innings in game 4 but the majority of managers don't manage in a way that is popular amongst the fans. You can go to 20 teams forums and see someone say "if we had any other manager we would be a playoff team/win the ws". Sure the alBraves could fire Fredi but we could end up with a worse manager. We could end up with a manager who puts BJ leadoff just because he is fast. We could end up with Dusty Baker who doesn't want players clogging up the bases.

I think Fredi's problem is he is trying to be Bobby. Bobby managed by his gut a lot and it worked for him. It doesn't work for Fredi outside of the last game.

Fredi on putting Pena out there vs a lefty where he has struggled batting right handed.

"I wanna see if there is something there, we'll throw him in there against one if the better lefties in the game and see what he's got. We're looking for another right handed bat to go along with Laird, we don't have anyone else, we'll see if Ramiro is a fit here."

Fredi insults himself much worse than any of us.

It's been a long past 48hrs but every time I see that pick I lose it, absolutely lose it, how on earth can one have such a ........well I don't know how to explain it....deer in the headlights look? ROTMFFLOL

Any of the Fredi haters want to admit they were wrong for him not bringing in Kimbrel since he has a sore shoulder?

Or no?

The recurring response seems to be "Well he should've sent McDowell out there to calm him down".

Avilan just didn't have it last night. A 30 second pep talk by McDowell wouldn't have done any better, he just didn't have it.

He may have had no other choice. But with a shortened bullpen, he should have left Santana in a little longer and not used two relievers in the 7th.

Santana was on a pitch-count, a lot of laboring, stressful innings unlike last time.

He has 1-2 more starts before he can go full-throttle.

Then, for God's sake, don't take Thomas out just because of an error and a righty coming up. What was Fredi going to do if we went to extras? If Kimbrel and Walden weren't available, you hold back as much as possible.
