GDT 9/2/23: Braves @ Dodgers - Keep on crushing

This is why I laughed when everyone kept mentioning the "The Braves are 2-10 against the Dodgers in LA since 2018" stat as if this team isn't completely different. This squad isn't good or great; it's truly elite.

I will credit you...You did say the other night that the Dodgers don't scare you outside of Mookie and Freddie.

Thank you and the Heels for destroying USC tonight. Hate them.

At the risk of us getting blown out tomorrow, this Dodgers team isn't like the ones from the last few years. Their roster doesn't scare me. The Braves have a significant roster advantage.

Whether that means anything in the playoffs is a different question. Who knows what happens in that crapshoot?

You think this series is more of an indictment on the West? I mean the Dodgers are beating ass out there and we basically eased in took all the pu$$y

This clinched the first season series win against the Dodgers since 2013, and the first series win in Dodger Stadium since.. I don't know when. I broke it all down earlier in the season but it was probably in a game thread somewhere. The Braves record in Dodger Stadium is ridiculously poor - like 6-19 coming into this series.

Ahh, I found it:

From 2013-2022 the Braves are 56-76 in west coast games for a .424 winning percentage. Overall, the Braves are 759-698, for a .520 winning percentage. (this excludes the 2020 season where the Braves only played east teams). They haven't won a series in Dodger Stadium since 2012, going 7-22 there in that span. They've been swept there 4 times.

It’s just a completely different vibe since since 21. For all years prior it was about how will braves find a way to lose this big game. Now it’s how are the braves going to find a way to pull this one out regardless of score or current inning.

All the “pain” from the late 90s and 2000s are being paid back in full right now.

We'll see. If we win it all this year, I'll agree. Otherwise, it'll have a similar feeling. Having it all come together one postseason and then falling short in all the others.
