Megathread: Braves lose Maitan, Bae and 10+ plus International Sanctions.

Whaaaaaaat?!?! I’ve been under a rock, totally just read this (haven’t opened Twitter today). What the frickin crap?!?!

Weren't you one of the ones that bought into the Wren thing though? Since you know, all of JS' people left then came back after Wren was let go?

Weren't you also one of the ones in the Rosenthal thread a few weeks ago that the organization reshuffle was nothing more than reorganizing the chairs on deck?

I did buy into it and I buy into the rumors about Coppy now as well. I'm saying its a disgrace the Braves got it wrong two times in a row.

Hmm, could open the doors for some trades in the future that might otherwise not have occurred under Coppy. On the other hand, maybe they're just bitching because Coppy refused to trade our top prospects....

I don't think it's that. I think the MO is to throw whomever left under the bus. We'll probably hear something similar whenever the new GM leaves.

Stop saying the Braves. It's the two headed monster up top in JS and JH.

People need to stop thinking Bobby is involved in this. There's no coincidence Bobby has kind of faded into the shadows more since Fredi was fired. He told Fredi "I had no idea" that he was going to get canned. People think Bobby is still responsible for Snitker being the manager here. I wouldn't be surprised if Coppy was canned because he wanted to fire Snitker, in the same way Wren was canned for trying to fire Fredi.

What infuriates me more is if Coppy and Wren were also fired because they were trying to advance the team's strategy and more into sabermetrics which all of the top teams have done, and JS and JH the old school guys didn't want anything to do with it and want to keep this Braves Way non-sense.

The question is why it was a displeasure to deal with us. If it's just cause Coppy's a dick, then fine. If it's because he wasn't easy to pry assets away from, then I sure hope we don't suddenly become more pleasurable for other GMs.

But this stuff doesn't seem to be coming from Braves sources. Passan seems to be saying that he knows his peers, meaning other GMs and FOs, didn't like him.

You are one sadistic dude.

Please direct me to all of your posts indicating anything like this would be coming.

LOL every single bit of info that pointed to problems in the FO was brushed under the rug by you and every other pozzy mouth breather.

It was clear to anyone with half a brain that there were major issues in the FO. Obviously we didn't know what the issues were, but it was blatantly clear the FO was not a smoothly running operation.

There were so many contradictory and sub-optimal moves it was clear to anyone with half a damn brain that everyone was not pulling in the same direction.

On the bright side, it's going to be a lot of fun following the process of hiring a new GM for a job that has to be considered one of the better ones in baseball.

You get to pick your own manager, you have the best farm in baseball, long term payroll flexibility with a new stadium.

Furthermore, we will get an outsiders unbiased perspective on some of these young players.

Now is the time for the Braves to go after a real analytics guy.

The reason Coppy resigned seems pretty clear...he broke the rules and MLB investigated him and clearly found something. This was not a decision made by the Braves.

Please point me to the posts I made on the subject. Major internal strife in the FO =/= breaking MLB rules.

Jesus, you STILL have your head in the sand.

What are you even talking about?

Coppy broke MLB rules, was investigated by MLB, and they clearly found that rules were broken. If the talk of him being bad to employees and hated by his peers is coming from the Braves, then obviously it's the same old badmouthing the guy walking out the door. But the indications I've seen from writers so far seems to be that this is coming from others in the industry, which would make since because this is not a move the Braves are willingly making on their own.

I'm sure there will be badmouthing of Coppy by the organization, unfortunately. I just don't think what we've seen so far is that.
