So you don't see any penalties coming?
I think I'm going to relocate my kids travel ball team to somewhere in South America and try to get in on these kickbacks.
If your dumb enough to try to break the rules to get a 14 year old to sign you are an idiot and deserve to be fired.
Go to your local travel ball tourney this weekend. You can find someone that will tell you how kid x is the next harper and kid y is the next kershaw.
Nah. Everything Chip does is over the table.

I don't think the Braves will lose Maitan. It was no secret he was going to sign with the Braves for years. There were no less than a dozen stories detailing what was going on. If MLB wanted to nail the Braves for that they would have already.
I expect they will get a slap on the wrist for this most recent 14 year old kid because it is so public that now MLB has to do something. Maybe they can't sign any international guys for a year. And who cares? They were restricted anyways.
Small price to pay by the FO to keep their jobs another year after failing to meet projected revenues. Coppy took the fall to buy these clowns another year. Now they can waste service clock on a few more prospects before being fired for winning 78 games next year.
The meeting was primarily in reference to how the Braves were acquiring players in the international draft. Venezuelan shortstop prospect Kevin Maitan was discussed as well other prospects. It is alleged that Braves promised cars, flights for relatives and other benefits to compensate players, which would allow the team to remain under its total of $4.75 million bonus pool money. It would also allow the Braves to sign more players.
All of this started from an internal report based on altercation Coppolella allegedly had during the MLB Draft this season. Details of that altercation vary, but it was reported to MLB and according to sources that spurred the investigation in the Braves international system.
“They were running it like a college football team,” A rival scout said. “I knew if the Braves were after a guy I wasn’t going to get him because the Braves were going to do anything it took to get him.”
If this was self-reported to any degree by the Braves, I'm hoping that will be taken into consideration when penalties are levied.

Only Uggla was a trade though. And we made the playoffs 3 times under Wren. That’s a lot better than what Dayton did for almost a decade before he went to playoffs twice.
