Cant believe these protests are still going on. Some of you can begrudge violence from the protesters all you want, I view it as fighting back. Police are not law enforcement. They are just violent thugs. The largest and most violent gang in America. If this was happening in China, Russia, Iran, or North Korea we would support the protesters. America isnt as bad as those countries but we are far from innocent and our government is far from a democracy(Republic, whatever). This broken system was built by and for police. politicians like Joe Biden could not wait to give cops everything they asked for and more. What the protesters should be demanding is that everyone be given the same rights cops have when facing a criminal investigation or strip cops of it. You know what cops say to that "but if we gave everyone the same rights we have a lot of criminals will get away with it" and completely miss the irony.
 
Do you know how NYPD got around marijuana decriminalization? It was legal to have as long as you didnt have it in plain view. So cops would tell people if they have marijuana on them to take it out and give it to them rather than go through a search. Then when the person takes it out they arrest them for it being in plain view whereas if they did a search and found it they couldnt arrest them. So yes, **** NYPD. We may need cops, but we have to break them before they will be willing to make the concessions people want. They only understand violence. Protesters arent the bad guys because they dont sit there peacefully and allow/let cops brutalize them. Predictable consequences of bad policy.
 
Thank god this cop was there to arrest a firefighter at a wreck helping people

i don't think it gets to go away until everyone agrees that it's more than just a "few bad apples" and we agree the whole structure is turn down and actually built to protect and serve the people

for me its been the most educational thread around here...and wanted to thank cajun for his doggedness in keeping it going...don't agree with all of it but it has opened my eyes

It isn’t the majority and it isn’t perfect.

It’s a hard as hell thankless job in a lot of winless situations for **** pay. I wouldn’t sign up to do it, and I doubt you would either .

So until it’s an attractive job for people you are gonna get flawed police, just like teaching it’s underpaid and under appreciated.

They have work to do everyone including them realize that. Most are not the isssue though.

I think the teacher comparison is a good one.

Both cops and teachers dont get paid ****.

Like cops, theres lots of bad teachers.

However people dont hate all teachers like they do cops just because there are some bad ones.

Maybe I'll one day start a "Neverending **** teachers thread"

I'm sure the uber democrats on this board like 57 and Goldfly would enjoy that lol
