I have no idea why anyone thinks DeRosa is a valid option. He has exactly zero managerial/coaching experience. The things he says on TV verge on complete stupidity about the modern game. He is not a serious candidate to be the manager of a contending MLB team.
Nobody from within the organization should be considered beyond token interviews as a sign of respect. They would all be at least as clueless as Snit because there was nobody around to teach them anything.
The 2 acceptable choices are Schumaker and Melvin. Nobody else is even remotely in their league that I've seen mentioned. I don't know much about Baldelli, but he may be an acceptable Plan C.
