New Manager Discussion

I have no idea why anyone thinks DeRosa is a valid option. He has exactly zero managerial/coaching experience. The things he says on TV verge on complete stupidity about the modern game. He is not a serious candidate to be the manager of a contending MLB team.

Nobody from within the organization should be considered beyond token interviews as a sign of respect. They would all be at least as clueless as Snit because there was nobody around to teach them anything.

The 2 acceptable choices are Schumaker and Melvin. Nobody else is even remotely in their league that I've seen mentioned. I don't know much about Baldelli, but he may be an acceptable Plan C.

I never thought this thread would come. I just hope it is not some old 90's Bobby Cox relic that thinks baseball should still be played like the good ol' days. It is time to have a leader that makes hard decisions, that tells the players what they are going to do that is best for the team and season and not asking them, understands leverage, lineup construction and game planning. Also be involved with other coaches to make sure the org has one direction and philosophy..
To be fair, Snitker made Bobby Cox look like Bill James.

I think Dave Martinez is a good option.

Like as Snit, I think Bochy is done as well. I’ve seen a few suggestions for Ron Washington. I like Wash, but he’s a bit older than Snit and has had some major health issues this year. Don’t think the Braves need to go down that road either

Was actually going to jokingly suggest him.
He's tight with Anthopoulos from their time in Toronto. The Braves hired him to either do some work with minor leaguers or advance scouting before he landed with the Mets as their bench coach.. I wasn't kidding when I posted it. It would be a totally different clubhouse.

hell.. just do this.

TDA manager
Nutsack pitching coach
Nicky doubles hitting coach
Discount dansby bench coach and call it an off season.

I think B Mac would make a good manager. He doesn't have any experience but catchers usually do a pretty good job and he's definitely a Braves guy.

He’d be horrible. That is another dude that doesn’t understand the modern game and has no interest in learning.
