Official 2017 Trade Deadilne Thread

Interesting numbers for those who said this team had no business adding prior to the deadline since the July schedule was such a killer...

The Braves are now 8-10 against "the best of the best" this month including 4-1 against the most important team in that group.

That proves little - other than "yaneverknow". No one would have expected the Braves to hang in there when they looked at the numbers. Guess that's why you don't see numbers people winning the lottery.

Braves are still on pace for 78 wins which matches preseason expectations. Guess the numbers guys don't know what they are talking about.

How many of them saw 8-10 over this stretch?

As I said, it proves little - especially since no one's said they're a contender. Sure does suck to eat crow when every number made them make "irrefutable" statements about how the numbers showed that that stretch was going to be the straw that broke the camel's back though, don't it? *amn - can't even find "sure things" on a spreadsheet.

LOL, pure genius! He is pimping an 8-10 record as an accomplishment haha!

At this point I'm convinced he is just trolling us all, and this clv character is made up.

Some will yell at me, but I see Dansby as the first to be traded out of that group. He might have the biggest name, but is the oldest with the least control. If I could get Fulmer with a package headlining Dansby (and maybe someone out of our top ten)...I would do it and not hesitate. Fulmer could make a much bigger impact than Dansby , with the other options we have in the infield going forward.

I think a lot of you guys are way to quick to jump off the Swanson bandwagon. Patience will turn out to be a virtue in my opinion.

I hope we're shopping Adams.... With his value pretty respectable at the moment, he'd be good in a package. This business of platooning him and shifting Freddie back and forth across the diamond isn't gonna work long term. So if we're not gonna give him a chance to start full time, we might as well be seeing what team's are willing to give.

You do realize it was the sweep from the Cubs that pushed Coppy over the edge into seller territory, right?

So yes, this stretch, is what "broke the camels back" as you put it. Don't get mad when Neck and Kemp are proven to be the worst corner outfield pair in the majors as I predicted to start the season.

The rockies say hello.

Unfortunately, the Braves' handling of Swanson has made his trade value that much worse. Not only does he have a year less control, but I don't think we could chalk up this horrid season as "rookie struggles" anymore

This is the same guy who advocated trading Albies+ for Dee Gordon

He also thought the Braves could get Sale with a package centered around Tyrell Jenkins.

He also said Folty and Wisler were equivalent pitchers this offseason.

I could go on and on, but I think you get the point.

I think many teams would jump at acquiring him still. I like Dansby and hope he turns it around, but if we keep him next year and he doesn't turn the corner...then yes...his value will tank. At this point, I think teams would take him over Ozzie and I'm not sure at this point if that would be bad. Ozzie has performed better at all lower levels than Dansby has.
