Official Playoff Thread

Schwarber has lots of homers but he's hitting .218. Castellanos has been trash all year. Bohm had a .713 OPS as a 3b. That's garbage. Segura isn't terrible, but he isn't good either.

Harper, Realmuto, Hopkins, and Schwarber are their only every day hitters with an OPS over .730. That is garbage.

All that and they're about to make the World Series.

You can tell the Snitsuckers on twitter that scrap part deadline acquisitions carried the Braves in October last year, and they'll get mad. We had career series from Joc, Eddie, and Soler.

Eddie will never have a week like he did for the LCS ever again.

Phillies are on verge of going to the WS with a mediocre roster.

Yes, but also some major moments from Freeman, Riley, Albies, Swanson, TDA. Everyone in the lineup did something to help out, which we didn't get this year.

Also a lockdown bullpen minus the ridiculous Bellinger homer.

Certainly not the sole reason we made it but yes, Joc/Soler/Eddie all were massive for us. I dont think the Phillies roster is mediocre. If Bryce doesnt go down, they win 90-93 games. They have a good lineup, solid top 3 in the rotation, bullpen has some questions. Not sure they have enough to take down Houston, but they got it going right now.

Pulling for Houston but Houston losing 3 WS, all to NL East teams would be funny.

Agree. Injuries are part of the game, but some injuries are bigger than others. Braves had guys miss time as well, but not having Harper for over 1/3 of the season is a pretty big punch in the gut. Phils have some obvious weaknesses in their bullpen and it's almost like their infielders play the field with a hammer and a frying pan instead of a fielders' mitt, but their big dogs can hit the ball.

Wow Harper might have just got Philly to the World Series. Would have brought in Hader, but yeah...

Gotta love baseball managers. Best closer in game on the bench as Padres go through phillies 3-5 hitters with season on line. Harper the hottest hitter on the planet at the plate. Lefty left match-up available. Leave him on the bench. Typing this before Harper hits a 2-run bomb. As I'm typing he goes deep. Lmao

Its actually shocking and fireable type stuff on what the Padres manager just did. To trade a massive haul to get the most dominating reliever in the game and literally leave him on the bench against literally the hottest hitter on the planet, with a lefty lefty match-up available. If Snit just did what they did I honestly cannot even imagine the melt down this board would be having.

Isn't it amazing how MLB managers can be caveman level dumb in the year 2022?
