REAL FOOTBALL Thread

I just don't think anyone in the NFC is all that good. It's setting them up for a shocking Super Bowl win. It isn't like when the Falcons and Pats rolled their way into the Super Bowl this year where you have a clear top 2 teams. IMO the Chiefs and Ravens are the 2 best teams in the league. SF is probably the best team that's left (Pats and Saints were better in the regular season) but I like the heat the Vikings have beating the Saints.

Only thing I'd say is the 49ers defense should get a massive boost from the returning players.

Fords status as always is up in the air but having Tart/Alexander back is big.

I'd like to use Breida more and almost cut Coleman out of the gameplan. I have a feeling 49ers have held back on Breida during the regular season because he is so injury prone. I still believe he is our most talented runner.

Remember when Michael Bennet was indicted on assault on felony assault charges and it made national news. Guess what didnt make national news, that he was proven innocent by video and that this was all a hoax by a lying police officer who suffered no consequences for trying to frame an innocent person.

49ers looked really strong. All those sacks and they mostly just brought 4 all game. Also, George Kittle is a freaking beast. Gronk 2.0

Titans took down the Chiefs once, but it will be a tall task to do it again at Arrowhead. We stack up about as well as anyone though being that the Chiefs can't stop the run and Derrick Henry running through the league like he's Deebo.

Titans have demonstrated a great defense the last 2 weeks in stopping Brady and Lamar, but I haven't seen an offense score at-will and rack up points so quickly since Peak-Rodgers and nearly most of Peyton's Peak play in Indy when they could march 80 yards no huddle in 2 minutes. Manning had the real 2 minute offense but Mahomes and the Chiefs are just as dangerous.

Can't run your way to victory when you're being outscored by Mahomes. That dude can score at WILL as good and easy as I've seen since peak-Rodgers and Peak-No Huddle Manning.

Mahomes is a true freak of nature. Unlike guys like Vick, RG3, etc. he has an eye for the field and he's got a killer instinct. Honed by Andy Reid we're looking at a true top talent. When his career is over he'll have one of the best peaks of any QB ever if he keeps this up. While he didn't throw 50 TDs this year (injuries hurt) he did lower his interceptions and he seems to be getting better at limiting sack damage. If he keeps improvign who knows how good he can be.

Mahomes is basically a better McNabb. He doesn't have the speed of Vick or Lamar, which McNabb didn't either. I think McNabb's peak was underrated because he never had anywhere near the weapons that Mahomes has. And he did it in a less offensive era. That's not a knock on Mahomes but this is way more of an offensive league now compared to early-mid 2000's in McNabb's prime.

Reid is a genius.

I think McNabb is a good comparison. Reid learned from that era that even a quality QB needs a receiver who can make catches. They don't even really need stars, just a few quality guys.

Reid is gonna be poorly remembered because he coached in the same era as Belichick, the greatest to ever coach the game. But Reid may have a greater long term impact as his coaching tree so far has been the more impressive, with Harbaugh, Rivera, Peterson, McDermott, and Nagy all former coaches. 7 of his former assistants have been coaches in the last 2 years. Belichick's most successful former assistant is O'Brian.

Once McNabb finally got someone like TO, they were basically UNSTOPPABLE. Shame TO and Rosenhaus played those offseason games, because McNabb and TO for a few years would have been mightily entertaining.
