REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Even the best super bowl winners lose some regular season games. The Bucs have won the super bowl twice while getting swept by the Saints in the regular season.

Just watch, after the Fecals use the tush push (or whatever it's being called this week) and win the Super Bowl with it, mysteriously that move will be outlawed so nobody else can do it.

Trash squad is lucky purdy got hurt or else we would have smacked them around.

You'll probably get another chance this year. My Cowboys could beat literally any team that ever played NFL football one week and lose to literally any team that ever played NFL football the next week. It just depends on which week you catch them. To his credit, Dak is finally starting to play the way Cowboys fans thought he was capable of. Not sure how long it will last but at least it's better than he was playing there for a while. Honestly, I think it was as much getting over that broken leg that made him a little gun-shy and that takes away quite a bit from his game.

Losing to the Falcons is the peak of embarrassment.

My conspiracy theory is that the Saints threw the game in hopes that the Falcons would keep the Imbecile as head coach and so damage one of their key rivals' long term prospects.

The Falcons have 3 top 10 picks on their offense and still have yet to score more than 28 this year. Yesterday the offense couldn't even put 20 up as a pick 6 was responsible for 7 points.

Anyone who loses to an Arthur Smith led team should be ashamed.

Your team got spanked. Brock Purdy would have put up **** stats and you would have lost.

Eagles are something like 26 -3 in games Hurts starts the last 2 years.

None of those teams comes close to how good the Niners are aside from chiefs and chiefs aren’t the same team this year.

Eagles would have been beaten and soundly with a healthy purdy and we will see what happens next week.

They've gotten a bit of luck, but they are 4-0 against the Dolphins, Bills, Cheifs, and Cowboys. So yeah, they are really good.

Refs helped them out yesterday and to their credit they run an unstoppable play that will probably be outlawed soon.

Even though he was playing for Nola, I loved watching him play. Arm was as talented as anyone to play. Probably the best one at putting it where only his guy could catch it

My favorite of watching the big 3 play

I really underestimated how hard his short passing was to do. I thought just about any QB could do that stuff. Honestly it made the offense better because turnovers dropped to almost nothing. If they had used that offense when he could still throw mid and deep it would have been unstoppable imo. The first half of Brees's Saints career 3rd and shorts were death to the team. I literally preferred 3rd and 10s to third and 1. I swear half the 3rd and short runs the RB was either hit in the back field or they would run into the back of an OLineman and fall down.

I know they put up great numbers but do you think any of the top 4-5 teams in the NFL fear the Cowboys?

Needed everything to just beat the Seahawks. Sorry Ok - Its not happening this year from what i see.

I don't think most people realize the difference between overall talent levels vs. matchup talent levels. I believe Dallas has as much overall talent as any team in the NFL, but they're still thin in the most important areas that usually make the difference against the better teams, especially come playoff time. Those 2 areas are, of course, the OL and the DL. When Dallas had the best team in the NFL, back in the 90s they dominated on both the OL and the DL. Jerry is the best owner in professional sports but probably the worst GM in professional sports. He has always preferred flash over substance. If Dallas can somehow "cobble together" enough substance they can beat anybody, but there aren't all that many OL and DL studs just floating around out there waiting to be "discovered".

The other big weakness they have, and have always had since Jimmy left is in coaching. I really believe that McCarthy is the best HC they've had since Jimmy left but still leaves a lot to be desired, IMO. Look at Philly, SF, KC, and any other "elite" teams, their coaches are not only really good at game planning before the game, but at making adjustments during the game. Again, I believe McCarthy and DQ are way better than most of what we've seen since the Jimmy days, but there's still plenty of room for improvement.

Bottom line when you're playing Dallas, get ahead early, cut out the big mistakes and turnovers. If Dallas gets a big lead on you early you're probably screwed, but if you get a big lead on them early, it takes away most of the things they do best, ie rush the passer, making Dak one-dimensional, etc. The problem is, SF, Philly, etc., know that.

EDIT: For anyone who watched the Dallas/Philly game a few weeks ago, at least those who watched it with an open mind, I saw something I DID NOT expect to see. I"m one of those people who believes the champions are the best team period, at least until somebody beats them. So, towards the end of that game I saw something that literally shocked me. I saw literal FEAR in the faces of Philly's entire coaching staff. They were running up and down the sidelines, doing their best Aaron Rodgers impersonations, "hey ref he was out of bounds", "hey ref did you see what THEY did"? "Hey ref his forward progress was stopped when he went out of bounds so the clock should still be running", and so on. I had to see that going on several times before I could actually process it. Like I said, IMO Philly is the best team in the NFC until somebody else proves otherwise. That's what shocked me the most. I couldn't picture them being afraid of anybody in the NFC except maybe SF. It's Philly so maybe their coaching staff was afraid they wouldn't make it out of that stadium alive if Dallas won (which could be a legitimate fear I suppose) but I still have trouble believing what I saw towards the end of that game.

Again, just my 2 cents worth.

Depends on which Dak shows up. And lest we forget Micah Parsons
