The Trump Presidency

Do you ubderstand how large and diverse of a pool administrative costs are? This should not be a surprise.

Executives getting paid millions of dollars and getting millions more in bonuses is abusing the system. That's where the majority of the administration costs comes from.

Regardless, marketing represents by far the highest costs among this.

Yeah see this is an awful, awful take

Not if you follow any amount of incentivized based model. It makes more sense for big companies to work on keeping the status quo then to introduce new tech.

I give you the smartphone. What has significantly changed in the smartphone world in the last 5 years? The biggest most profitable businesses in the world are working on the smartphone but you see minimal amount of motivation to really make big changes.

The issue we have with Big Pharma is there's only so many players that upstarts can't get their self into the game and develop something new. Because they start making noise and someone comes in and buys them out.

Lol consumer tech is basically the best example of innovation in the world. What BIG changes could be made to a smartphone? Expecting a 2007 iPhone level leap every year is insane. Not to mention costs for the phones continue to go down.

Profit is basically why everything happens. It's why you work at a job, so you make a profit. You dont work for free do you?

My favorite thing this week now (until the braves game starts) is seeing so called pro lifers argue for drug prices to be outrageous and cause some can’t afford it those people die and the pro life people are ok with that

Cause of profit naturally

If you can show me where I've argued for outrageous drug prices, I'd appreciate it.

You just dont understand anything when it comes to economics. It's sad but its known.

Ever gonna weigh in on the free speech thread, by the way?

Higher taxes are bad for business.

We knew this, right?

Trump's trade policy is a sneak preview of a Sanders/Warren trade policy. His tariffs are functionally the same as their calls for higher taxes. He wants out of trade deals just like they want out of trade deals. He’s for protectionism just like they’re for protectionism.

And yet...

I would ****ing love to be a fly on the wall wherever Chuck Grassley is today. Yesterday, he's in Iowa, under anaesthesia, having surgery, when someone in D.C. releases a statement in his name pushing lies and conspiracy theories to protect Trump that directly contradict things he has been passionately saying and protecting for decades. Today, he releases a statement directly contradicting that statement and reiterating his decades-long stances. You know staffers are squirming under some very unpleasant questioning today.

I think most people work because it’s the most expedient means of providing for their/their family’s needs. Exchanging your labor for financial compensation (in which exchange, generally, someone else turns the surplus value of that labor into profit) isn’t really profit, exactly, is it?

You’re arguing for the status quo, which produces outrageous drug prices.

"Privately, the president had often talked about fortifying a border wall with a water-filled trench, stocked with snakes or alligators, prompting aides to seek a cost estimate. He wanted the wall electrified, with spikes on top that could pierce human flesh. After publicly suggesting that soldiers shoot migrants if they threw rocks, the president backed off when his staff told him that was illegal. But later in a meeting, aides recalled, he suggested that they shoot migrants in the legs to slow them down. That’s not allowed either, they told him."

Republicans, traitor in chief and his cult: socialism and communism is awful

Trump: congrats China on 70 years of rule!

As if Trump wasnt on my **** list already.... he gave a presidential medal of honor to Mariano Rivera. Wtf has he ever done to deserve that?
