What's next?

I wouldn't do Inciarte for Soler. I may look back three years and think, "wow, I'm an idiot." But I'm tired of question marks on this team. This guy is a sure-thing above average solution. Id we package for Soler AND Baez to fill two spots, I do it though.

I don't want both Soler and Baez. I'd prefer Soler and either McKinney or Happ if we're going that route.

I would like a trade that included Eloy/Contreras/maybe Hudson.. maybe another minor piece..
or
Baez/Eloy/Hudson for Inciarte.. spread the risk out a bit by getting several potentials..

Eh, I'm not a Baez fan. Jimenez and Hudson are intriguing, but I'd rather get pieces that are closer at this point, especially given that we'll add even more high-ceiling long-term pieces soon.

My ideal trade would be something along the lines of Inciarte/Jenkins for Soler/McKinney, as I've said before. I would definitely do that.

Not sure the Eloy/Contreras puts us that far behind.. both are projected to be ready in 2017.. Hudson is much farther away but that isn't a big deal as we have plenty of pithing..

I like the talent return in yours.. we would have to move some pieces around though.. McKinney and Soler are outfielders.. that means, HO moves to the infield..(maybe 2B).. maybe see if we can get Candelario. that would put us in pretty good shape..

I do think the Cubs and Braves could be best friends.. We have two pieces they want and they have several blocked pieces we could use.. Both teams could make the other very good for years to come..

I mean, Jimenez was 18 all year and didn't play beyond short-season A ball. I'd be pretty surprised if he's ready by 2017.

McKinney might be able to play CF, and even if he can't, it would just require us to move Markakis. I think Olivera should already be in the infield.

If we pull off a deal with the Cubs, I'll probably be ok with any return. I just want to clearly fill needs if we move Inciarte, which to me is bats that will be ready soon.

I thought he was 19, but it has been a bit since I read a report on him. I thought I remembered an ETA of 2017.. 2018 is more realistic.

I completely agree, that a Cubs/Braves trade should make us happy regardless.

He turned 19 in November. I just can't buy into an ETA at 20 or even 21 until he at least plays in A ball. He's basically sitting where Riley is.

Definitely understand the concerns. But to me we already got a home run in the Shelby deal with the centerpieces in Swanson and Blair. Inciarte is a very good player but in my opinion he's maxed out already. I wouldn't be surprised if his offense falls off and as he gets older his D will slip. We should go for a home run talent wise with Soler because that could drastically alter our future if he hits. Inciarte will never be more then a very good secondary piece

I agree with the first part....Inciarte has shown that he can hit, steal bases, and play defense. We have 5 years of control on him. I'm sorry isn't this the type of guy we need? No I am not interested in trading him for Soler or Baez. It would take much more in return up front to even get me to the negotiation table.

Getting him was supposed to speed up the rebuild. Trading him would counter that sentiment

It seems like the different issue is what everyone here thinks of Soler. It's either really high or really skiddish

I'm in both camps with Soler. That's why any deal with the Cubs has to be for Soler plays another legit guy. I'm guessing that's what the holdup is. If the Braves only wanted Soler the deal would probably be done by now. They want more, and the Cubs are thinking.

I could also the Cardinals and Indians being a fit for Inciarte. They both have a surplus of young unproven OF's. I could see a 2 for 1 deal where we get back a young OF as well as a good young SP, and they get a sure thing in Ender for 2016.

The other piece must be significant, bc if it weren't it would have happened already. If we were to get Soler and Underwood or Contreras for Miller then what they turned Heyward into is beyond inpressive.
