We've been taking on money for minor league talent so that we can save money while giving up good major league and minor league talent?

You'll all be regretting disobeying Hart when he signs Heyward & Price in the offseason and makes a huge splash in the international market next year.

Hart has lost his mind if this rumored trade is true, striker is right and I say that as someone who promoted signing Olivera as much as anyone. But I didn't want him this bad, esp. after the UCL news. This **** stinks really bad if true. It's so bad I am having a hard time believing it.
 
there's no reason for the braves to have thrown peraza in this. wood has three good years left with atlanta, about the same you can expect from olivera. throw in the bullpen pieces that help LA win today and that's more than even. if not, no way the cherry on top should be the top rated prospect. we're talking about the braves giving up their top rated prospect for LA's third best and a guy that's barely rated above peraza overall. and he's old. the young prospect is the guy you want to have on a team that's publicly said that they aren't going to be winning for a while.

the only way this makes any sense at all is if the braves think peraza is a huge bust and will fall off any day. otherwise it would be lunacy to give this guy away just minutes before you can finally see what you've got in him at the big league level. surely a month in september couldn't hurt his overall value too much in the offseason if they still thought he should be shipped away.

Well, overpaying Heyward for what he brings offensively makes about as much sense as trading a young, up and coming starting pitcher for a 30 year old prospect.
 
If we obtained a very good young SP and a player rated as a franchise's top prospect by more than one publication while giving up no top 10 prospects and no one playing for us in the majors, everyone would be laughing hysterically at the franchise we pulled that on.

We owed it to all of baseball to pull a Touki type trade. "Wood clearly hasn't hit 90 MPH from what our scouts say." - Dave Stewart, er, I mean John Hart.
 
1) I would be having a hard time with JUST us giving up Wood in on this. Adding everyone else just makes me think this is a joke. Even on a video game they would not allow this.

2) I thought we were trying to get younger to compete in the future....so.....then we get this .....
 
Well, if this goes through, it may be my least favorite trade we've made in quite a while.

I hope I'm wrong, Olivera is healthy and becomes the bat we need. I would of much rather liked this deal if it were Puig.
