2019 Trade Deadline Thread:

Vargas has been kinda okay recently though, but no gamechanger by any means.

I think when people know you have a good farm they ask for a lot more.

AA is rich prospect wise and he might be smart to just let people get a lot less, than overpaying. I don’t really blame him if that happens. I think he is trying for the big deal, but not going to do a Quintana deal.

If they want to be idiots (like the Marlins asking for Acuna+), then let them have at it. We will be ok.

They were idiots by asking for Acuna?

Well it seemed like the Marlins wanted Acuna or no deal when a deal could have made with pitchers and Pache or something. Which fits their TL better.

Yea they could've had a package including Pache from us but instead took less from the Brewers.

We're talking about Yelich or are we talking about Realmuto?

Acuna was probably a reasonable at least opening ask for Yelich (and perhaps closing ask) and Pache would not have been a major prospect at the time.

I don't think they asked for Acuna for Realmuto.

They asked for Ozzie for JTR.

Acuna isnt a bad ask, but cant fault AA for not going there. But even then, a deal could be have been compromised without Acuna. Pache, and let them pick any 2-3 pitchers.

Pache wasn't a major prospect when they traded Yelich. Not near enough to headline a deal. I'm not sure he's really enough now.

He didn't need to with all our high ranked pitching prospects they had to choose from. What they accepted from the Brewers wasn't good.

Maybe not headline a deal but they could have gotten a better deal if they didnt insist on Acuna or bust.

Something like Pache, Wright, and a couple other pitchers from the Muller, Wentz, Touki, Gohara range is better than what they got.

Pache was something like the Braves 10th best prospect at the time. An all defense outfielder yet to hit his first professional HR.

They should have asked for Ozzie and the Braves probably should have done it.

Ken just said the Braves will do something at the deadline, have a great farm. Just a matter of what path they do. Didnt really mention any names. A team to watch as the deadline comes.

Well AA doesnt leak ****, hard to even know what hes planning.

Yeah, but the bit about the Braves making a move at the deadline is a massive scoop. I would have never guessed the Braves would be looking to improve their playoff team at the deadline.

Less than 45 hrs to deadline. We've heard nothing but less than believable rumors. My thoughts are AA doesn't do much. Deals in the lower tiers but NO big names like Thor, Giles, Diaz, etc
