Neverending **** the Police thread.

Here is a fun story of a cop who frames a mothers son for murder because she refused to give him a BJ. 23 years later he is exonerated and the state says they cant find any charges that the statute of limitations has not run out. This is some kind of bullcrap. Just like the cop in Chicago who tortured people into confessions and only does 4 months for lying about it. Remember that lynching bill? How about making it federally illegal to frame someone for a felony with statute of limitations not starting until the victim is not incarcerated. Sentencing should start at the time you caused others to serve as a mandatory minimum.

Why do you think cities have more crime? Why do you think democrats end up running them? What cities do republican run? Why do more people still choose to go live in cities?

Crime isn’t cause of a political party though, so, I reject the premise of your question which makes you mad

And yet crime is more prevalent under democrat rule.

They honestly deserve to be run over

Time is over to play nice and call these peaceful protests. Need to step up force and stop this insurrection.

This has nothing to do with Black lives. Quite the opposite. Black lives are dispensable to these lunatics.

Atlanta is a war zone right now. We just got back. Total shock

Is it a shock though?

I guess for you to see it up close based on what you're used to but just from following the politics of the last 2 months I don't think anyone should be shocked that violent crime and murder has skyrocketed.

We're seeing that society without police is close to the state of nature. As Thomas Hobbes said, life in the state of nature is "solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short."

Reforms are needed. Demilitarization of police is needed. But strong policing is also needed. Very little separates modern man from the violent tribes of the days before civilization.

"the war of all against all" is how Hobbes described the state of nature...he wrote at a time of civil war in England

some sort of order is obviously a minimum prerequisite for any society

Hobbes is interesting. I don't agree with all his conclusions but he certainly made some good points.

A breakdown of law and order usually leads to significantly more violence than even a harsh government. We can't let the pendulum swing too far or else we'll be worse off. CHOP and the occupied Wendy's show us that.

What we need are the police enforcing laws that are supported by the people they are "protecting and serving". We have been doubling down on bad policy for so long that nothing we can do will fix this in a year. Multiple generations have been poisoned. This is what almost 60 years of the war on drugs has done to the country.

Here is a video I posted a while ago and was trying to find. This stop perfectly illustrates the divide between cops and black people. This 18 year old black kid gets pulled over for making a wide turn. The kid isnt dressed like a thug. Doesnt talk like a thug. Isnt tatted up like a thug. But gets pulled out of the vehicle. Apparently people call their mom before doing crazy stuff. That's legit the reason the cop gave him for pulling him out. Now the kid is rightfully upset but remains calm. The cop tries to shame him for not being happy about what's going on. As if he is supposed to thank the cops for trying to find a reason to put him in a cage. He doesnt consent to a search of his car so the cops bring in the drug dog which miraculously alerts despite no drugs being found in the car. This kid gets pulled from his car and handcuffed for no reason and then cops have the nerve to say he has a bad attitude for not liking them. And after all that he still gives him an ticket.

Turns out these cops were encouraged by the chief to be aggressive with minor traffic stops of young black men in poor areas. But systemic racisim doesnt exist......
