2022 Spring Training Thread

Schafer had an issue with ped as I recall.

Like others have said. We just saw Riley make a big change on approach and pitch recognition. That is very atypical but it is there.

The other issue last year was waters stopped hitting for power. If he can play cf well and go 250/300/450 he can be valuable.

He has a path.

But nobody is betting on it. If they were he’d be ranked in top 100s or on the athletics.

This is a make or break year for Waters. I think he’ll have a decent year. The Covid season had an affect on all the guys in the minors and they lost a year of development.

TB is using their real lineup today. Wish we were using Davidson, Wright, touki, or newcomb today instead of Stephens.

Man, I have a bad feeling Riley is gonna take a big step backwards this season. Really hope I'm wrong

I don’t understand the Braves pitching usage. Are the real SPs going to have enough games to prepare when they’ve already wasted 2 starts on scrubs?

You Waters supporters have interesting takes on him. i believe I've seen him more than most and every thing the scouts say or have said has been close to right. I've seen it with Jordan Schafer and I've seen it with Waters....approach....indecisive pitch recognition. Not a hater, but one spring homer doesn't equate to him being a reborn prospect.

I'm pretty tepid on Waters. I just recognize that he can have value without being a star. It might not be a ton of value but he's not useless.

Did I hear them say on radio that the Braves had signed Phil Gosselin as a utility guy?

I see him and possibly Demerette as potential bench guys, barring some other additions we don't know about yet.

I have no idea what you did or didn't hear of the radio, but they DID sign Gosselin to a minor league deal.

You've really been gone a while

I have. I kept hearing this in my head and the force was too strong to resist.

Players like Waters need humility. I know I was higher on Pache than most even during his struggles but mostly because he was so humble. A hard worker and genuinely loved being A brave. I like Drew, but he screams Jordan S. I want to be wrong.

I was higher on pache here than most too, but according to my friends who attend M-braves games religiously, he was a huge douche

Never got that from him and I watched him with an even bigger ego maniac in Cruz. He was always level headed, grounded and did his thing. To each his /her own though. When I visited Holly Springs, MS I'd go to the games after. I didn't get that but I know different fans have different interactions.

In any case...he gone. I hope Waters gives us all a reason to believe in him.

Muller gets the start today. Phillies not using good hitters

Waters gets another start. Wish he were higher in lineup today to see Gibson
