They’re not paying explicit interest but they effectively are. That’s more total dollars than he gets without doing this. If they valued him at 10/$600 for example they’re paying him $100m to do it this way

Yeah I really don’t see how acquiring Stassi is a move that will lead to anything significant. I don’t think that big FA acquisition is coming. I think AA is building around the edges right now and maybe there will be a smaller sign like Lugo. But I’m not seeing mastery in these little moves.

I’d be stoked to acquire Keller. He’s not a sure thing though and I’d bet the cost is still relatively high. He’s a sneaky maybe legitimate target though. I could see it.

It seems every off-season we sort of expect a big FA signing and it never happens. Maybe it’s for the best, but whether he has the money or not AA just doesn’t really hand out huge FA deals.

Well if their offer wasn’t close to what’s been reported, it couldn’t have been that big. I’m a little concerned there’s not as much money available as we might’ve thought

I’m not sure what the “best” of Bryce Elder is moving forward though, and the Rays tend to like projects with raw stuff over a guy like Elder. I’d be thrilled if they value him much at all.
