They need infielders, but I don’t think Riley gets it done without a good young pitcher or two. But maybe they still like Newcomb and imagine he’s good and young?

Newk, Riley, and Muk. Muk will help provide veteran leadership for their new core at a fraction of the cost.

White Sox reportedly nearing a deal with Eloy Jimenez. will be very interesting to see what the deets are

6 years 42.5 millions with two options that could bring it to 8 years 75 million. I wonder if that means no service time manipulation. I know he was already optioned, but he probably doesn't need anymore triple A at bats.

Another deal that helps frame an Acuna extension.

I listened to one of newcomb's start and radio said he was really focusing on changeup this spring. Hopefully he's been throwing way more changeups than he would in real game

Yes, but his biggest problem still is fastball command. If he can't locate his fastball, they'll just destroy all his offspeed stuff. Which, is exactly what happened in the second half of last season.

Also, the good thing about Newk is that teams will still think they can fix them, but ya... I obviously want to trade him before he becomes another Wisler.

My god that Simba trade was horrible.

Wow at Eloy being extended before playing in the bigs. I’d off an 8 year 150 deal to Acuna and see what they do.

Yeah sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Small potatoes comparatively, but the Phillies may have a bit of regret signing Kingery to 6/24 considering he put up a -1.4 WAR last year

Good notes from MLBTR just now:

  • Duvall 5/37 in ST, and the team could move on from him in the next few days
  • Minter, O'Day and Folty start the season on the DL, Gausman iffy
  • Soroka optioned to AAA to get stretched out, may be an option for the rotation

Using MLBTR's Free Agent tracker, the RHH OFers available are:

  • Joey Bats
  • Matt Holliday
  • Austin Jackson
  • Danny Valencia
  • Chris Young
