2022 Trade Deadline

Can you elaborate on your evaluation of the Grossman move?

Team definitely needed help against left handed pitching in the OF and we got a guy that had a 1.000/.860 OPS (22/21) against left handed pitching.

He is an ok piece. I would recomend adjusting this year's splits due to his almost .500 BaBip against LHP. We are not getting a platoon Trout you know.

This is what I meant when I said the package for Soto wasn’t going to be some insane thing. The Nats got a good haul, but they also added Bell and took on Hosmer’s dead money.

The idea that the package was going to be some earth shattering thing was always silly.

1 60

3 50 FVs

Doesn't that equal roughly 120 million or more in FV? Seems pretty significant to me.

I think the Nationals did alright. Young players/prospects are always a roll-of-the-die to some extent, but the pedigree here is pretty impressive. Hassell, Wood, and Susanna are a long ways away, so we'll have to wait on them. A lot will depend on Gore's elbow. I think Abrams is going to be a stud. Pretty much your standard "now-for-later" trade.

It was a solid move, but mot as impactful in LF as I hoped. In a world where SD adds Soto, adding Grossman is extremely underwhelming.

I realize there's a line AA doesn't want to cross, but I was hoping that line was little further out there.
