What would you call him then?
Ultimately, as far as I'm concerned, Brown's complicity or innocence is irrelevant: an officer's first reaction shouldn't be going for her or his gun. Too often, with black youth and black men, it is. Too often, in general, it is. If that's too much for them to handle, then they shouldn't be police.
You'll never get a response to that question. The facts of this event (Brown death / subsequent protests and riots) don't jive with the story some want to discuss here.
Look up crime stats in Ferguson and say it's not relevant here. I forget the number but it's like 86% of all arrests in Ferguson are black while like 56% of the population is black.
I responded to this with a video of journalists getting tear gassed. It was basically ignored.
I thought it was my right to have free speech without getting tear gasses. Boy am I dumb.

I guess it comes down to whether we're going to talk about this specific incident or as a whole. Do I think it's messed up that the police department has only 3 black members when the population is 66% black? Absolutely.
However, I'm talking specifically about this incident. I'm wondering what you've read or seen that is specifically racist about this incident to your knowledge?
Here's article about the statistics in Ferguson.

I think the issue is that would the cop have done the same thing to 2 white teens walking down the street.
You mean to tell them to get out of the street for holding up traffic? I would hope so simply for the safety hazard.
I dunno about you but on a dead street, I've walked down the street in the middle many times. I never was harassed by cops. And I can bet the tone a cop would use in both situations would be different.
I remember when I was in college, at JMU. There is an annual party - "Springfest"… You may have heard about it. Actually, you may have heard about the "riots" that took place in 2010.
It was all over the news. Prior to the "riots" starting, Police came from Richmond in riot gear to "prepare" for un-rulely college drunk kids.
Here's the thing. Nobody was doing anything until the swat team showed up. Nobody. I was there. what happened was, swat teams showed up and surrounded the perimeter. And helicopters flew over the fields. Nothing was happening yet. But what happened when we were surrounded by swat teams? Kids started shouting at the cops. Kids threw empty beer cans, because we were told we weren't allowed to continue without being arrested. Guess what. **** escalated. Because that is what happens when you surround folks with a freakin military.
Now, the cop(ck) suckers will say us college kids were wrong. And we deserved to be tear gassed, and shot with rubber bullets. But I was there. I'm telling you that there were no issues (other than loud music) until the military came in.
Another day in the land of the free.
Well again, how you say things can change what you mean.
If I say "Can't you get off the road, it's dangerous" and "get off the road" they are doing the same thing as far as goals but the implications of both are totally different.
I agree but do we know what the tone of the conversation was? Without knowing the facts or tone of the conversation, I don't see how one can leap to the conclusion that it was racist.
You keep reinforcing my points --- wonder if you realize?
A shade off topic but
Remind me again the gun laws in Britain?

You should have just went home and watched TV to learn more about the situation.
