Freeman to the DL a strong possibility per Bowman.

His worth per game is meaningless over a 3 game sample. He could produce 0 runs or 10 runs in a short sample.

I'm fairly confident though we would have scored more runs with him inthe lineup.

So how is this any different in the playoffs?

We just beat 2 INCREDIBLE pitchers and another top flight prospect without our best hitter. I don't believe that happens with either the 2013 or 2014 teams and those temas had much better pitching.

We scored 2 runs against DeGrom and 1 against Harvey. I bet our offense from 2013 could have done that.

What the hell. Revisionist history at its absolute damned finest

With the strikeout laden lineups of 2013 and 2014 and how well DeGrom and Harvey were pitching... we likely would have been shutout most games, IMO. We were actually able to manufacture runs against them, which the 2013 and 2014 teams struggled in doing.

Can't blame #Braves for not announcing anything on Freeman, considering #Nationals still haven't announced a starter for tonight. Ridiculous

There is zero evidence of this. What is the likelihood of "scratching out a run versus Upton, Heyward, Gattis, McCann, or someone hitting a solo homerun?

Sometime in 2013, you said Miller is "absolutely" an ace (and that Teheran was not yet).

Do you have proof of this or just fantastic memory of 1 line from 2 years ago? Being that I've never really like Miller and he didn't pitch like an ace in 2013 (his first year starting); I would be surprised.

I'm surprised that our 2013 lineup didn't allow our offense to scratch together a run Sunday with Lavarnway and Ciriaco. A double and a single. Some kind of manufactured run right there.

I was just reading through old threads and found it.
You also spoke about how the lineup in 2013 wasn't that strong. But now that those guys aren't here, it's a different story and that lineup was amazing.
Par for the course.

Against pitchers the calibar that we just beat?

I don't think people realize how good Degrom is yet.

No...I think everyone realizes how good DeGrom is...

They just don't realize how trash @ss that Mets' offense really is. An organization that was bottom dwellers for the longest addressed the pitching staff by drafting those unbelievably talented arms, but failed to address the position players...and its evident... Mets starters weren't bad at all this weekend...their trash @ss offense failed to score them runs...Same sh*t I've been hollering about all year...Get them away from CITI Field, and they are hot garbage

Revisionist history is FUN!

thethe:
You only trade Heyward after making MULTIPLE attempts to resign him. 20 million a year is not a lot in the current state of major league baseball, especially for a player like Jason.

(2014) Man, if BJ can just be league average this team is going to win 96 games again.

Yeezus:

Heyward would get more on the open market than Choo did.

But Jason, JUp, BJ, Simmons, Freddie, Teheran, Minor, Wood is a lot of potential. I don't think there are that many teams with that kind of upside. I think the Nats are one, though. I feel our talent gets a little underrated by some around here.

If just a few things break our way, we have the talent to be a dominant team.
