GDT 6/28/23: Braves @ Twinkies - Powerful Ass Lineup for Allard

This upcoming series is really important to win against the Marlins. After this series, Atlanta only sees Miami for 3 more games, so Miami needs a series win if not a series sweep.

Happy Olson is hot but the team would still be undoubtably better with freeman.

Even still - AA is best GM in league and I’m not sure it’s particularly close (maybe TB guy)

Good to see our old friend Allard do well. Also holy shut Olson nearly has homered in 1 out if every 3 games. I still miss Freddie though. Why couldn't we have both.

It's hard to find a hole on this roster that can be addressed via trade. Even the LF platoon is working out exceptionally well. I'm thinking AA gets the most expensive rental SP he can find that can essentially be had for no prospect cost.

The goal in the 2nd half should be not leading MLB in "most guys who've played every game" stat like it's 1986.

If an elite rental closer comes available I'd go for it. But yeah, not a ton of room for improvement.

Backup IF is a huge hole

When we get up, AA loves to get his 7 man rotations going. AA is going to try and get to the all star break with this 7 man rotation to set up for the playoffs.

The LF platoon of Pillar/Eddie has been fine. I assume you meant SS though?

Thing with a BP piece is, who do you trade away/send down?

We have: Chavez, JoeJim, Tonk, Lee, McHugh, Iggy, Minter, Anderson, Heller, Yates. That's 10 arms all who are capable... Backup IF'er is the obvious hole even if said player wont play.

These things usually have a way of working themselves out. Let's see where they all stand health wise/results wise in a month from now.

Between Fried/Elder/Strider/Morton/AJSS/Soroka/Allard/Shuster, that's 8 options right there.. Giving phantom DL stretches to Elder, Strider and Morton if we really extended the division lead wouldnt hurt though. Could certainly upgrade on the last 4 though, wouldnt argue with you on that.

This is also true, just saying the Braves have a ton of BP options. I trust AA to do what he thinks is right though.
