Sunday vs reds...Going for series win (no FF)

Greene wasn't great in any year before this season. His FIP was two runs higher than his era this season. Tigers were wise to sell high on him. He's not a high velo impact arm. I said it in the trade thread, he is and was due for regression. AA was applauded for shoring up the bullpen at the...

Mark Melancon to Atlanta per Passan

It's a bad deal but we need pen help. I can't understand how Dyson cost three prospects not in the Twins top 30, but Melancon required Beck and we had to take on the entire contract. It's not my money, but I don't understand that. Having said that, I hope Melancon nails down a late inning role...

    2019 Trade Deadline Thread:

We could have easily topped this without gutting the farm or even trading one of our top 4 guys. Toronto may not have wanted to trade with AA. AA may feel ok with our current rotation options, or may just want to use our resources for bullpen arms. Either way, I expected Stroman to cost more.

    2019 Trade Deadline Thread:

I don't trade Waters or Pache unless it's for a long term answer in the OF. I don't trade Anderson unless it's for a TOR starter. I don't envision any of that happening, so those 3 should be untouchable.

6 blown saves in 16 chances. Time for a change.

BRAVES FINAL DRAFT SIGNING BOARD: Backstrom on board!

Interesting on Bunnell. Hit .196 and only started 8 games. Guess the scouts still saw something in him

    2019 MLB Draft Thread

Just watched video on Philip. He had a 20% k rate at Oregon State, which isn't a surprise given his swing path. I don't like his hand placement, and think his k rate will only increase without major adjustments. I don't understand this pick still. We took two college infielders with swings...

    2019 MLB Draft Thread

Drafts aren't judged for several years out. However, when it's all said and done, I'm ultra confident that this draft will be considered a catastrophe in 3-5 years. There's zero upside with any of our picks. We drafted a probable backup C, a utility player with no pop or speed, and a SS with...

Not one of the three even remotely excite. Just a miserable draft. We drafted 3 college bats that can't hit.

    2019 MLB Draft Thread

We could have had Carroll and Espino. Will be interesting to see how this works out over the years. Won't know for sure for 3-5 years. But at this moment, this is a failed first round.

I prefer guys with more upside. Not much upside with either pick

    2019 MLB Draft Thread

AA not winning many supporters these days. "Saved" money by signing Markakis to give us flexibility we didn't use. Made zero signings to aid the bullpen. Fired Bridges, and replaces him with a scouting director that thinks Langeliers is worth 9 and Shewmake is worth 21.

    2019 MLB Draft Thread

Carlos Collazo just hinted the Braves going more with analytics than trusting opinion of who scouts say is best player on board. Sounds like a winning strategy. This is just unbelievable.

    2019 MLB Draft Thread

Can we fire Brown please and bring back Bridges? We seriously spent the 9th and 21st picks on two hitters that don't project as above average bats. Shea is all defense with limited offensive profile. Shewmake is full of intangibles but has little to no pop and only stole 6 bases this year...
