FRIDAY MINORS FKNAL5/26 ... Rome stays red hot

Anyone heard anything new in the last week on some of our injured pitchers? Last update I heard on AJ Minter had late May as a possibility for his return, and haven't seen anything on Wentz since he took the liner off his leg or Gohara since Coppy indicated they were skipping him a start.

Braves Acquire Matt Adams From Cardinals

This. If we were a wild card contender, I'd have no issues with this trade. But don't understand it this year, we aren't a wild card team with or without Freddie.

Braves Acquire Matt Adams From Cardinals

This trade makes little sense to me, why give up a 19 year old top 25 prospect in a deep system just so you can have a "legit" 1B for two months in a lost year?

WEDNESDAY MINORS THREAD 5/17: It's starting tp look a lot like summer

Yeah neither team was drawing it out, only took an hour fifteen to get through the first four and a half

WEDNESDAY MINORS THREAD 5/17: It's starting tp look a lot like summer

Went over to the game for the first 4.5 innings on my lunch break, Newcomb looked good. Much better than his outing earlier this year in Norfolk, working down in the zone, not much hard contact (as mentioned earlier, the Tides first hit was an 0-2 breaking ball the hitter just threw the bat at...

MINORS FINAL; 4/26 WEDNESDAY: Tough Act to Follow

Time to give Juan Yepez some attention for his start at Rome - repeating the level bc he missed significant time with injury last year, but nothing negative about holding your own at A ball as a 19 year old. .333/.371/.524 so far with 9 2Bs and 1 HR, 5 BBs versus 17Ks in 63 ABs. Ks are a bit...

SUNDAY MINORS THREAD 4/23 ... Two quality starts wasted

Allard 5IP 5H 0R 1BB 5K - took him 85 pitches (52 strikes), but a much better beginning to the year in AA than he did last year in Rome Drew Harrington 7IP 3H 0R 0BB 3K - bullpen blew it for him

MINORS FINAL FRIDAY 4/21 ... Rome wins in 18 innings!

If Soroka truly is a 90-91 guy, it certainly gives him less leeway when he gets to the majors to be successful, especially if you also see degradation in the things he's consistently done well (very few walks, very few HRs) beyond what you'd expect when moving up the ladder. So it bears...

MINORS FINAL FRIDAY 4/21 ... Rome wins in 18 innings!

Looks like reports vary, fangraphs and Sickels have him at low 90s, Keith Law says he can touch 96

MINORS THREAD 4/12: Wednesday's Schedule ... Rome improves to 6-1

Was at Newcomb's start last night. Can't give a great scouting report, as I was often more focused on my 5.5 month old and left early (see 5.5 month old), but I thought he looked good although not super impressive. Nice easy delivery, amazing he gets such velocity out of it. Lived mostly on...

MONDAY MINORS 4/10 ... A.M. Baseball in Mississippi; Touki awesome

On Wentz, 6 hits and 4 runs but 5ks in 2 innings, be interesting to hear whether he's getting beat on mistakes or just getting hit

    5/22 SUNDAY MINORS FINAL ... M-Braves win in 16!

Soroka's numbers are just getting ridiculous in Rome. So far today following Banuelos he's gone 6 IP 3 H 0 R 1 BB 5 Ks. For the season he has as many Ks (46) as hits + walks (37 + 9) in 48.2 innings.

5/19 THURSDAY MINORS Final.... Fried's best start so far

Fried bounced back from his last couple starts, 5 IP 1 H 1 R (0 ER) 4 BB 4 K Lucas Herbert's bat may be starting to adjust to Low-A as an 19 year old, 7 game hitting streak

4/26/15 MINORS FINAL: Grim news from Rome

Fulenchek is still only 18, way too early to write him off or be down on him because he isn't in Rome. Should be interesting to see how he looks after a year with instructs and extended spring training.

    MINORS THREAD 4/12: Wisler debuts

Some good pitching by Alec Grosser and Carlos Salazar as well for Rome. Interesting to see if Salazar harnesses his potential in the pen, he's off to a good start.
