    Saying good bye to Freddie

I’ve thought for a few years now that the Angels would be the likely landing spot for Freddie after this season. I love him, but I don’t want to be paying him for 4-5 years as he declines. If he wants a 2-3 contract, sure, but anything longer, let him go back West.

    Should we call up Waters?

Nothing will be appealing when it’s replacing Acuna. But no, Waters and Harris are not the answer.

    Should we call up Waters?

No. We strikeout enough, why bring up another player that will strikeout even more? Role with what we’ve got. When we do bring someone up it’ll probably be Ervin or Almonte anyway.

Around the League - 2021 Szn

So the Atlantic League and MLB are going to try out some rule changes. They’re moving the mound back a foot to 61’6” and are instituting a “double hook” rule where when the team pulls it’s starting pitcher they also lose their DH. The second rule sounds counter intuitive.

    Bally's just launched

Anywhere that aired on a FoxSports channel is now a Bally’s channel. So here in Tampa I have to watch my Lightning games on Bally Sport Sun now instead of Fox Sport Sun.

    Bally's just launched

I hate the new score at the bottom of the screen. They use it for NHL and NBA now too. It gets in the way of the view. Miss Fox Sports already.

Looking Ahead - The 2020 Offseason Thread

They didn’t fully comp him to Glaus in the article. They said how when he first came up they thought he was like Glaus, then he dropped off quite a bit. But he has the tools to improve.

Looking Ahead - The 2020 Offseason Thread

Acuna is trending on Twitter with how great his deal, coupled with Albies deal is, compared to the Padres signing Tatis. We’ll be paying the 2 of them less then they’ll pay him.

PECOTA projects the Braves win 82 games, finish fourth in NL East

As of now, no expanded playoffs. That was one of the proposals not agreed to yesterday. 7 inning double headers and runner on second to start extra innings are a go for 2021, but expanded playoffs and NL DH were not agreed to

    MLB Baseball Changing for 2021

Also, 7 inning double headers and extra innings starting with runner on second are coming back in 2021.

PECOTA projects the Braves win 82 games, finish fourth in NL East

Past 3 years they’ve had us no better than 3rd and no more than 82-83 wins.

    Don Sutton Has Passed Away

That’s a sad one. Grew up listening to him with Pete, Skip, and Joe. Sad, sad day.

Looking Ahead - The 2020 Offseason Thread

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but we fired our bullpen coach, Marty Reed, and replaced him with a younger guy from the Astros organization, Drew French. We also promoted Bobby Magallanes to be our second assistant hitting coach. All other coaches are coming back next season.

    Farewell, Cleveland Indians

Chicago Blackhawks and KC Chiefs should be changed before we would be on the chopping block based on the PC-police rankings.

    Augusta Green Jackets

Actually surprised to see the Fire Frogs not get a spot, considering they played at the new Spring Training hub.

    Braves sign Charlie Morton

Ugh. Yeah let’s tie up huge sums of money on his declining years to help this season. I’d rather front load a Freddie extension, if we have to resign him at all.

Ozuna to Mets now I would guess with that money freed up.

Not to mention I just absolutely hate Molina. There are very few players in MLB that just disgust me to my core, but Yadier is one of them.

    Playoffs discussion 2020

25 years ago today, we won the World Series. Best Braves day of my life. I can still remember the call watching Grissom catch that last out.

    2021 season

So I guess you’re also against the new helmet face protector, or even ear flaps on helmets at all. You’re against flip down sunglasses for fielders. Must be against the lights at Wrigley as well huh? I mean if you are a purist and all. Maybe we should go back to those old times gloves they used...
