Braves Statistical Analysis

Well, their hitting is underated, imo. Its not great, but could be around league average.

If David Wright and Darnaud come back healthy, then I agree. But if those two are out they have nothing besides Duda. Cuddyer and Grandy are league average bats, but the rest of the lineup is atrocious.

Murphy is an average hitter as well. The black holes are really Lagares and Flores, but they aren't absolutely terrible for CF/SS.

I think the Mets are pretty good and if they can trade Gee/Niese for additional help that could really push them forward.

Syndergaard looks impressive and Matz is ready for the big leagues.

The Mets have a team wRC+ of 89
The Braves have a team wRC+ of 86

Take Wright and D'Arnaud out of the equation and the offense is pretty much a wash with ours.

But, they have much better starting pitching.

Didn't they just drop Matz's pitch count down?

But we have Baby Harang and don't you forget it!

No doubt. The Mets are superior to the Braves.

But their offense is bad and they don't have any upside bats in the lineup/system that lead you to believe it could get any better.

Edit: Forgot about Conforto, but he probably won't be ready this season.

I didn't hear anything around here about that. Just that he is dominating in a league/home park that pitchers don't dominate. This is the same place where Harvey/Degrom struggled (relative to how they are doing now). Matz could be really damn good.

I remember reading something Bill wrote in ST about how the Braves were getting pretty excited about Perez but I think he has to be even exceeding their expectations.

I bet Mets deal for Justin Turner

He was kind of sent away by the current front office. Turner was a popular player in new York. Fans were really behind him for the most part. The front office just did not value him the same way. I wouldn't be shocked if there were still hard feeling on both sides.
