Good, especially that last statement! FO should have learned their lessons from the 90s. The Yanks had Mo, we had a revolving door...case closed. If Braves had a Mo, Kimbrel, or Smoltz closing games in the 90s I'll bet my life that we have at least 1 more World Series trophy, and more likely 2-3 more.

Don't understand the logic of trading one of the potential all time greats.

Hart knows first hand, as the World Series trophy was literally taken out of John Hart's hands by the one and the only Jose Mesa.

This is not even remotely comparable to the masterwork the Cubs have executed. They sign/acquire young, high-risk/high-reward propositions and pawn them off when their value is at its precipice.

It is different, but to say not remotely comparable isn't correct.

I was mostly just comparing it to collecting assets and selling them. If he's pitching well come July then there will be.a market for him.

I don't know why you're asking this question, but it sounds a lot like the "bitching" you were making an issue.

I guess some things never change...

I've bitched about alot of their moves lately, they didnt have to trade Walden with Heyward.

So what would you trade him for then?

Kinda agree but they need to be good by at least next year, not sure Kimbrel wants to pitch on a ****ty team for 2-3 more years of his prime.

Yeah the Tigers probably have a WS in the last 2-3 years if they had Kimbrel or an elite closer.

It's only dumb if you don't have anything leading up to him. Braves are a mess with their position players and they need to be building around Freeman.

I know and that was my point. You call out folks, often times in the very same thread, for doing the very same as yourself or at least very similar.

That is also why I find you so annoying. As they say: "No one likes a hypocrite."

So many people take having an elite closer (Kimbrel) for granted. It's a luxury knowing/having someone who is going to come in the 9th inning and shut the door 9/10 times. Until you don't have someone like that, you can truly appreciate how nice it is having an elite closer. (The Tigers are a prime example)

I would assume that Hart was saying that he hopes to build/bridge his bullpen around Kimbrel for the next 10 years, not the entire team.
